Tianyue Advanced passed the IATF16949 automotive grade system certification in 2022, and its 8-inch substrate received continuous large-scale orders from international first-line power semiconductor manufacturers. In 2023, it also won the "Excellent Supplier Award" from top international automotive manufacturers. Sanan Optoelectronics has formed a joint venture with Ideal Automotive to establish Suzhou Sco Semiconductor, focusing on automotive grade applications. The first phase of the production line has achieved mass production of full bridge power modules; The 8-inch substrate produced at the Chongqing base is specifically supplied to Anyifa Company, a joint venture with STMicroelectronics, to ensure stable supply of automotive grade SiC MOSFETs. Tianke Heda's 8-inch low resistance substrate is suitable for high-end automotive scenarios such as 800V electric drive systems and high-voltage fast charging, effectively reducing energy loss. The low resistance P-type 8-inch substrate delivered by Tianyue Advanced in 2024 has also accelerated the development of high-performance SiC IGBT and promoted the localization of automotive ultra-high voltage power devices. As a traditional application scenario, the penetration of 8-inch substrates continues to deepen in the fields of wind and solar energy storage and industry. Tianyue's advanced 8-inch substrate has been used in devices such as photovoltaic inverters and energy storage converters, significantly improving energy conversion efficiency. Although Hesheng Silicon Industry is in the stage of small-scale production of 8-inch substrates, it is rapidly promoting the large-scale application of 8-inch products in the field of wind and solar energy storage with a yield of over 95% for its 6-inch substrates. In the fields of industry and power grid, Tianyue Advanced P-type 8-inch substrate has made breakthroughs in higher voltage areas such as smart grid; Tianke Heda's 8-inch substrate has established long-term cooperation with international companies such as Infineon to provide stable material support for scenarios such as rail transit and industrial control. In the field of consumer electronics, AR glasses have become a new growth point for 8-inch SiC substrates. Tianke Heda has launched an 8-inch optical waveguide type silicon carbide substrate, which solves the pain points of narrow field of view, rainbow pattern, and poor heat dissipation in traditional AR glasses. Currently, it is deeply cooperating with Mude Micro Nano to accelerate the technology research and market promotion of AR diffractive optical waveguide lenses. The 8-inch optical high transmittance substrate of Tongguang Corporation is at the forefront of the industry in core parameters such as refractive index, visible light absorption rate, and flatness, attracting the attention of many SiC optical customers. According to industry estimates, one million pairs of AR glasses require approximately 300000 8-inch silicon carbide wafers. Compared to 6-inch substrates, 8-inch substrates can significantly improve lens yield and reduce unit costs. As the AR glasses market is expected to enter an explosive period in 2027-2028, the demand for 8-inch optical grade substrates will continue to grow rapidly. In addition, advanced packaging of AI chips and other fields are also expected to drive further release of SiC demand.
