The oil and gas production area of Qinghai Oilfield is located in the Qaidam Basin in the northeast of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, with an average elevation of about 3000 meters. Most of the remote wells within its exploration and trial production range are located in remote areas, making it difficult for the power grid to cover and resulting in high power supply costs. However, oil fields have unique advantages in terms of light resources, and the mining area is located in the most abundant area of light resources in China.
Yuebei 1 well is located in the northern part of Gaskule oil area in Qaidam Basin, and is a remote well site without power grid coverage. The Yuebei 1 Well Photovoltaic Storage Microgrid Project is an important achievement of deep cooperation between Qinghai Oilfield and Engineering Materials Research Institute, mainly utilizing the new energy technology of "photovoltaic+energy storage+DC bus microgrid".
The project adopts an off grid photovoltaic energy storage system, consisting of photovoltaic, lithium iron phosphate energy storage, and all vanadium liquid flow energy storage, which not only ensures energy storage capacity and stability, but also improves the overall efficiency and safety of the system, meets the "green electricity" demand of pumping units all day long, significantly reduces the operating cost of single wells, and achieves zero carbon emissions. Expected annual power generation of 198000 kilowatt hours and annual carbon reduction of 197.4 tons.
The off grid optical storage system has also introduced multiple new technologies and models. The all vanadium flow battery independently developed by the Engineering Materials Research Institute has been applied for the first time in the production site of Qinghai Oilfield with good results. As a new energy storage technology, all vanadium flow battery achieves the conversion of electrical and chemical energy through the redox reaction between electrolyte and battery stack. It has the advantages of high energy density, long cycle life, good safety, fast response speed, and easy implementation of large-scale energy storage. Compared with lead-acid batteries and lithium batteries, all vanadium flow batteries have outstanding performance in long-term energy storage, large capacity applications, and safety.
At present, the daily power supply demand of Yuebei Well 1 is 360 kWh. It adopts a "6-hour photovoltaic+18 hour energy storage" power supply combination and is equipped with an off grid photovoltaic storage system of "100 kWh photovoltaic+200 kWh lithium iron phosphate energy storage+120 kWh full vanadium liquid flow". Compared with the construction cost of traditional grid power supply, it saves more than 300000 yuan. Meanwhile, the system is expected to save 77000 yuan in electricity bills annually.
