78KW/220KWh! The first all vanadium flow battery energy storage system in Western Australia has been
Recently, a 78KW/220KWh vanadium flow battery (VFB) pilot project located in Kununurra, a remote area in western Australia, has been officially put into use. This project is led by Horizon Power, a local power company in Western Australia, with VSUN Energy (a subsidiary of Australian Vanadium Limited AVL) responsible for supply, installation, and commissioning. The aim is to explore the potential of vanadium flow batteries to support renewable energy supply in extreme environments and solve long-term energy storage technology challenges in remote areas.
